Portraits – The early Years – 1970s
When I was in High School I met up with a guy who became a friend, he did a bit of sketching and he encouraged me to give it a go. I had not done any art since primary school so I tried to copy a photo from one of his mother’s fashion magazines and discovered I made a fair go of it. That was the first image in this series and over the next weeks and months I did a few more and found I had a little bit of a talent here, but for some reason after this rash of drawings I didn’t do any more for years.
